Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on the Exhaven website, and why. We try to use as few as possible.
What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of data that a website stores in your browser. Some are required for the site to function (for example, to remember that you're signed in or that you've added something to a cart). Others are used for analytics or advertising — we don't use those.
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the site and checkout to function. You cannot opt out of these without breaking the site.
- Stripe checkout cookies. When you go through checkout, Stripe sets cookies on its own checkout page to process your payment safely and prevent fraud. See Stripe's cookie policy.
- Cart state. Our site stores your current cart selection locally in your browser so you don't lose it when you refresh the page. This is stored as browser local storage, not a cookie sent to our servers.
Authentication cookies (admin only)
Our internal admin tool, which is only accessible to authorized Exhaven staff, uses Firebase Authentication. Firebase sets cookies to keep authorized users signed in. These cookies are not set on our main customer-facing site.
What we do not use
To be specific, we do not use:
- Third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels
- Cross-site behavioral advertising trackers
- Social media tracking pixels (Facebook Pixel, etc.)
- Marketing analytics platforms that build customer profiles
If we ever add analytics (for example, to understand which pages are most useful), we will update this page and use privacy-respecting tools that do not build profiles of individual visitors.
How to control cookies
Most browsers let you view, manage, and delete cookies in their settings. Disabling cookies entirely may break our checkout flow and is not recommended if you want to complete a purchase.
Changes to this policy
If we add new types of cookies or change how we use them, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
